A Professional Teacher at Your Service
I am a certified teacher with a decade of experience in Alberta's classrooms. I have a B.Sc and a B.Ed from the University of Lethbridge. I started teaching because I firmly believe that education will help us overcome obstacles as individuals and as a society. Bridging understanding and building confidence in my students motivates me to do my best.
LESSONS AND SPECIALTIES
ENGAGING, HANDS-ON LESSONS TO DEVELOP BASIC SKILLS AND CONFIDENCE
Math exists in the real world, not just on paper. In accordance with the recent leading studies and curriculum rationale, I encourage students to develop their own mathematical understanding of basic concepts through guided activities. My experience teaching students in Primary School and Junior High have enabled me to develop a wealth of engaging, hands-on activities, that target all learning styles.
STRAIGHTFORWARD HELP WITH COMPLEX CONCEPTS
As mathematical concepts become more complex in higher grades, I offer well-organized, straightforward help. This is geared towards building mathematical confidence and enabling you to keep up and thrive in your regular classes. I also offer condensed lessons to help you catch up if you have fallen behind, or prepare you for an upcoming test or final exam.
With Geoff, math can make sense!! My daughter failed her gr 6 math PAT, and her confidence was at an all time low. Then she had Mr. Rosenstein for Math 7-9, and this year she successfully passed Math 30-1 and her diploma exam with a 72%. This would have never been possible without Mr. R building both her skills and her self-confidence. Geoff’s greatest asset is that he can figure out individualized ways of teaching math that allows all students to experience success. When my son was struggling with radicals in Math 10-C this year, when schools were closed due to COVID, and he was trying to learn independently, I knew who to contact!
